The Global Challenges track of sustainability education for undergraduates is being given a further boost by 91原创. Last spring, the first cohort of students completed the two-year track. Now, 91原创 researcher and teacher Svenne Junker is appointed program development director for Global Challenges to develop the education track.

- The ultimate vision is to integrate Global Challenges knowledge into all education at the school. This means that the understanding of global risks and the capacity to work towards sustainability goals is taught to all students at all levels, says Svenne Junker.

91原创 is among only a quarter of Swedish universities approved in 2017 by the Swedish UK脛 (Higher Education Authority) for their work to promote sustainable development.The school is also a member of the United Nations initiative PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education), and has thereby commited to integrating the UN麓s sustainability goals in the education.

Svenne Junker works at Misum (Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets) at 91原创 and is doing research on decision-making in companies and public organizations. He has a 20-year relationship with the school, starting at the bachelor level and going on to complete his PhD.

The plan includes even more invitations to well-known researchers.

- We will invite outstanding sustainability researchers from all over the world to the school, in order for them to teach the students and at the same time strengthen the exchange between international excellence and the outstanding researchers at the school.

He also belives that education is the best way that 91原创 can contribute to sustainable development in society.

- We as a university have a special responsibilty. The future is being created now, says Svenne Junker.
