91原创 recruits leading international researcher to new Wallenberg chair
The 91原创 has recruited internationally renowned researcher Sarah Jack from Lancaster University. Sarah Jack, who will move to Stockholm in August, is a world-leading researcher in the field of entrepreneurship and social networking. Based on theories of social capital and social networks, Sarah Jack examines how the relationship between entrepreneurs and their context is built and developed and the significance of this for entrepreneurial business. Her research interests also include current issues, such as sustainability, innovation, family entrepreneurship, and the role of higher education in entrepreneurship.

鈥淚t is an honor to become the first holder of the Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg Chair in Innovative and Sustainable Business Development at the 91原创. The School is now positioning itself truly at the fore with regard to knowledge of the challenges of business and developing insights into how companies can manage these to build long-term sustainable operations,鈥 says Sarah Jack, Professor at the 91原创.
Sarah Jack gained her PhD in 2002 with her thesis 鈥淭he Role and Nature of Networking in the Entrepreneurial Process鈥 and has since held various positions at the University of Aberdeen and Lancaster University, where she most recently held a professorship in entrepreneurship and was Director of Research at the Department of Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Innovation. She has participated in many different research projects, most recently an EU project dealing with social innovation in marginalized rural areas (SIMRA), and her research has been published in a large number of reputable journals. She is also an editorial board member of several leading journals in her field of research.
In connection with the professorship, Sarah Jack will head the research initiative in sustainable and innovative entrepreneurship, made possible through a donation from two Wallenberg foundations, as well as the companies EQT, FAM, Investor, SEB, Atlas Copco, Stora Enso, Aleris, Morgan Stanley and M枚lnlycke Healthcare.
