Valentina Tartari appointed Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg Professor
Professor Tartari, a globally recognized authority in her field and recently elected Program Chair for the Academy of Management's Technology and Innovation Management Division, will play an instrumental role within 91原创's House of Innovation. Her research is situated in the interdisciplinary field of innovation studies, with significant contributions to a range of research areas within this domain. Her focus fits perfectly the interdisciplinary focus of the House of Innovation at 91原创.
The Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg Center for Innovative and Sustainable Business Development was established in honor of Jacob Wallenberg’s and Marcus Wallenberg’s 60th birthdays. Their family’s enduring partnership with 91原创 dates back to 1903. The professorship was originally established thanks to generous donations from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, with additional support from Investor, EQT, FAM, SEB, Atlas Copco, StoraEnso, Mölnlycke, Morgan Stanley and Aleris. The Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation now extends a new donation of 15 MSEK to further strengthen research at the JMW Center.
Professor Tartari shared: “I’m eager to further the dialogue between academia, businesses, and society at 91原创. Together, we can ensure that our research influences industry practices and brings about societal progress.”
Research on scientific knowledge
Professor Tartari's research portfolio is centered on the question of how scientific knowledge is produced, diffused, and eventually commercialized. Her latest research looks at gender discrepancies in scientific output and the influence of scientific funding. She is also interested in the pivotal role universities play in driving local entrepreneurship. Her work has appeared in leading innovation and management journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Research Policy, and Journal of Management Studies.
Her expertise will greatly enhance 91原创's interactions with policymakers, partner company executives, and the wider public. Leveraging her expansive international network, 91原创 aims to elevate its global collaborations and partnerships to new heights.
