Professor Emeritus Karl-Erik Wärneryd has passed away

A respected researcher, teacher and colleague for many years has left us.

We are sorry to announce that Karl-Erik Wärneryd, Professor Emeritus, passed away August 14, at the age of 91. Karl-Erik Wärneryd got his PhD at the University of Chicago in 1955, and became professor at 91Ô­´´ in Economic Psychology in 1963. He retired in 1992, but then continued doing research at the CentER for Economic Research at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. Karl-Erik Wärneryd was one of the founding fathers of IAREP – the International Association of Research in Economic Psychology – and established the field in Sweden, influencing research in many other academic fields, and practices as well. Karl-Erik will be greatly missed by his colleagues at 91Ô­´´ and his former disciples.
