Krystal Zhao-Jansson is a PhD student at the House of Innovation, 91原创. Her research focuses on new venture governance, particularly board dynamics and interactions within venture capital-backed tech ventures. She employs both qualitative and quantitative methods to examine the adaptive and contingent nature of venture boards—emphasizing the roles of director cognition, board turnover, and knowledge diversity in shaping governance effectiveness.
Before beginning her PhD, Krystal participated in a research project at Uppsala University and Handelsbanken, studying the relationship between initial public offerings and technological innovation in Sweden.
She holds a master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management and a one-year master’s degree in Marketing Strategic Management from Uppsala University, as well as double bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Business Administration from Dalarna University.
